A New Development Wants to Limit Toxic Comments

We have all been there or know someone who has used the Internet  in the wrong way. For example, some people comment under articles or blogs to either voice their opinion or cause friction. Google’s parent company, Alphabet is trying to prevent the unfriendly conversation exchanges by working on the comment sections.

Alphabet’s new development Jigsaw has a software program called Perspective that will give access to publishers so they can become aware of what is going on under the comment section of their page. Due to the help of New York Times and Wikipedia this software program was created. All the developers of this program believe this a great way to eliminate toxic conversations in the comment sections.

I believe this software program is a great idea as well because it make sure that people do not have too much control and power in the comments sections. Once the person makes a rude comment the publisher is immediately notified. This is the first step towards making sure people stay on topic and limit censorship in the comment sections.

I encourage everyone to read more on this new development : http://tinyurl.com/ztyp5zn
