Twitter adds “Explore” for its users?

Twitter continues to get more creative by adding new features to its online news and social networking service. This time, Twitter has a launched a new “Explore” tab for Apple and Android users.

The purpose of this new feature is for users to be able to find trending topics, “Moments”, and live videos. The “Explore” tab is already out for Apple users and in the coming weeks will be available for Android users.

The overall goal of the tab was to make it easier to find news information, see what was popular and trending at the time. There were different places on Twitter for users to find out information. The “Moments” feature captured the most popular stories, trends showed what topics being discussed currently, and search allowed anyone to look up anything.

Product designer Angela Lam believes this new feature will make it much easier for Twitter users as she stated “Until today, you had to go to a few different places to find each of these experiences. As part of our continued efforts to make it easier to see what’s happening, we’re bringing all of these together. Very soon, you’ll be able to find trends, Moments, search and the best of live video, all within the new Explore tab.”

When looking at this new feature, it definitely makes it easier for people to use Twitter and find out information faster. “Explore” is a great feature that will help users stay organized and has the ability for them to choose topics of their interests. For my own personal use of Twitter, this allows me to find information regarding sports and events that are happening around the world. I think this is a very helpful feature.

  1. The idea for Twitter to create this new feature is smart and convenient for those who want to see trends, updated information, and other available things on Twitter. As a Twitter user I find this very helpful and I can benefit a lot out of this. Combining all these under one feature saves time and makes the process faster.

  2. It’s cool to see Twitter adding this feature, however, I feel like they’re way behind on this! Instagram has had their explore page since they day the app was launched. It is a very helpful page to see users that post content you like. It can also help boost accounts that want more followers by placing your post on the page for other users to see. All in all, great new feature, however, I feel like Twitter is behind.
